There are some stories that are not written simply to tell people where we came from. They are told to remind us of what God can do with a life that begins with very little.

The story of Lewechi Memorial Less Privileged Foundation Schools is one of such stories. It is a story of struggle, survival, courage, resilience, faith, and above all, the grace of God. Before there was a school, before there was a foundation, before there was a vision to provide opportunities for other children, there was a young boy whose own life was a journey through difficult circumstances.

THE STORY OF A YOUNG BOY

I was a young boy who grew up without the privilege of having a father by my side. Life did not begin for me with all the opportunities that many children naturally hope for. There were moments when the future looked uncertain and moments when I had to face realities that were far beyond what a child should have to carry.

Even education, which I believe today is one of the greatest gifts that can be given to a child, was not something that came easily to me. There was a time when no relation was willing to take responsibility for giving me the education I needed.

Imagine being a young child and looking around for someone to say: “I believe in you. I will help you. I will make sure you go to school.” Sometimes, that voice was not there. There were challenges. There were disappointments. There were moments when circumstances could have made me believe that my background would determine my future. But somehow, through all of those difficult moments, God kept me.
